HBO Dates Game Of Thrones Season 7 Blu-Ray; Special Features Include An Animated History Of Westeros

Now that season 7 has staged its finale, and the dragon (Daenerys Targaryen) and the wolf (Jon Snow) are fighting out of the same corner, HBO has posted details on Game of Thrones‘ upcoming Blu-ray launch.

Perhaps fittingly, it’s been revealed that the season 7 Blu-ray will be available from December 12th – just in time for the festive season, no less – while those who simply can’t wait for winter to come can look forward to the Digital HD launch on September 25th. And in keeping with tradition, the home video release is packed to the rafters with bonus features and other tantalizing extras.

For Thrones fan, Christmas has come early, as the season 7 Blu-ray heralds an “Animated History of the Seven Kingdoms,” along with scores of special features designed to take you behind-the-scenes of HBO’s fantasy juggernaut.

Despite two relatively high-profile leaks, Game of Thrones season 7 was a colossal success for HBO, and its finale, “The Dragon and the Wolf,” now holds the record for the most-watched episode yet. Alas, it’ll be some time yet before Thrones delivers its last hurrah, as the eighth and final season isn’t expected to arrive until the summer of 2019. And to keep spoilers at bay, HBO reportedly plans to film multiple endings, so be extra vigilante of any potential story clues that appear online.
