Supergirl Season 2 Blu-Ray Release Date And Extras Revealed

Although the first season of Supergirl was no slouch, I agree with many viewers in saying that its sophomore run was a vast improvement. It wasn't just that the show was finding its footing, but there's the undeniable benefit that comes along with being a superhero series airing on The CW. In other words, it's apparent that the network affords more creative freedom, thereby allowing comic book based shows to stay truer to their source material.

Although the first season of Supergirl was no slouch, I agree with many viewers in saying that its sophomore run was a vast improvement. It wasn’t just that the show was finding its footing, but there’s the undeniable benefit that comes along with being a superhero series airing on The CW. Actually, you need only look as far as the first couple episodes of season 2, which both featured Tyler Hoechlin as one of the most believable interpretations of Superman in live action – ever. But as much of a welcome addition he made as a guest star, the focus on Kara Zor-El was never lost as she found love with Mon-El, and even battled supervillain threats such as Cadmus, Parasite and Mr. Mxyzptlk. Aside from that, James Olsen took to the streets as Guardian and Lena Luthor entered the fray, making for an exciting year of television.
