It’s the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time, arguably the most pleasant superheroic surprise in years and, soon, a member of your Blu-ray collection at home. Yes, the Merc With a Mouth is barrelling down on his home video release, and 20th Century Fox has unveiled the Deadpool special features to prove it.
Keeping that brilliant marketing flame burning just a little while longer, those bonuses on the disc were revealed in typically cheeky fashion – gag reel, without the safe word – and you can find said features listed via the graphic below. Among the highlights include a series of deleted/extended scenes and the audio commentary featuring Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, flanked by writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (the real heroes).
[zergpaid]Thanks to an unsurprising announcement at CinemaCon last week, we know now that Deadpool 2 is officially a go and, barring some freak accident, director Tim Miller will be returning at the helm.
“I’m going to do Deadpool 2,” said Miller. “Barring an unforeseen accident, I will be doing Deadpool 2. The writers have been working on the script…The script comes first. You’ve got to get that.”
Deadpool will be dragged kicking and screaming onto Blu-ray and DVD on May 10. For a rundown of those special features included, check out the graphic below.
Directed by Tim Miller, is based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero. It tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
