Of all the film marathons to undertake while locked in at home during a pandemic, Saw wouldn’t necessarily be on my list. Some of you may be braver (or more foolish) than I, though, and if Saw was on yours, this news ought to be useful.
Right, time for some Star Wars news that you may already have suspected, but has now been confirmed. The news is that The Rise of Skywalker, the most recent and final episode in the Skywalker saga, was the least profitable of Disney’s Star Wars trilogy. In a new report by Deadline, the publication found Skywalker had a net profit of roughly $300 million, down on the $419 million the studio scored with The Last Jedi, and on the massive $700 million they made on The Force Awakens.
Now that we’re not going to be seeing Venom 2 (now titled Venom: Let There Be Carnage) for an additional 8 months on top of the 6 we were already set for, fans are due something to tide themselves over. Sure, the fan trailer I’m plugging today is unlikely to make up for that loss, but it’s the best we can do until lockdown passes. I'm trying, alright? Star Wars: The Clone Wars is moving closer and closer to its curtain call. This Friday sees the ninth episode of the final season air on Disney+. Titled “Old Friends Not Forgotten”, the episode will see Ahsoka “lead Republic clones to confront Maul’s forces on Mandalore, while Maul senses the impending chaos and makes a calculated play to ensure his own survival”. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, stars of X-Men, Deadpool, Deadpool 2, Once Upon a Deadpool, The Deadpool Before Christmas (not that one), have once again called a cease fire to their ongoing (seemingly never-ending) feud. The pair have decided to draw a temporary halt in the name of the ALL IN Challenge, a charity that aims to ameliorate food insecurity, a problem that’s become particularly acute amidst the pandemic.
