Avengers: Endgame just can't stop shattering records. The highest-grossing film of all-time now also holds the distinction of having the longest-running theatrical release of 2019. The movie originally dropped into cinemas on April 26th before a re-release featuring bonus footage came out on June 28th. As of last Wednesday, the flick is somehow continuing to play in just over 100 theaters nationwide and at this rate, there's a chance it could still be on the big screen by the time the next Avengers installment comes out. We kid, of course.
The Lord of the Rings is one of the most popular franchises in cinematic history. So many careers have been launched and defined by the iconic series, including that of Orlando Bloom's. His portrayal of the beloved sharpshooting elf put the young actor on the map but despite his immense contributions to the original trilogy, the performer only made $175,000 for all three of the films combined.
Kevin Hart's scary car accident over the weekend has a lot of people worried. While the star's health is obviously first and foremost, studios must also consider the long-term ramifications of his ongoing recovery. For example, the extensive physical therapy he'll have to endure on his way to a full recovery is expected to throw a lot of his upcoming projects into limbo. This isn't the case, however, for Jumanji: The Next Level.
Joker has been met with nearly universal acclaim thus far, but not everyone is happy about the release of the upcoming movie. Some feel that the film's message is extremely inappropriate given the current climate in America, as the flick's central message appears to be the glorification of a sad, angry loner committing acts of extreme violence, which coincides with a time period where mass shootings seem to occur almost daily. A few critics even feel that the movie might inspire those in a delicate mental state to emulate Joker's descent into madness.
Another character from the original Halloween is now set to return for the upcoming sequel, as it's been confirmed that Robert Longstreet has been tapped to play Lonnie Elam in Halloween Kills. The notorious bully from the first film will join fellow Haddonfield natives Tommy Doyle, Lindsey Wallace and Laurie Strode as they try to take out Michael Myers once and for all.
Look who's back! Famed comedian Eddie Murphy is planning to launch his career revitalization by hosting Saturday Night Live later this season. The comeback will then continue with a Netflix movie entitled Dolemite Is My Name and the highly-anticipated sequel Coming to America 2. Following all that, though, the actor will come full circle to return to where it all started out for him: the stand-up stage.
Kevin Hart has been the talk of Hollywood ever since his horrific car accident last weekend. Now, a newly released 911 call from the actor's home has surfaced, detailing the events of what happened after the crash. On the phone, an unknown woman states that the comedian has been in an accident and needs immediate medical treatment. She says that he was "not coherent at all" and that he "[couldn't] move." The call was placed at 2:13 AM and the woman claims that the accident happened 20 minutes prior, although it's believed that the crash actually occurred closer to 12:45 AM.
Avengers: Endgame is a great movie, but it's far from perfect. There are plenty of gaping plot holes and questionable character choices that a lot of fans would go back and change if given the chance. According to Joe Russo, however, he has no regrets. When it comes to his magnum opus, he wouldn't change a thing. In his own words:
While Kristen Stewart may not be taking on a role in the MCU any time soon, she still might find herself portraying an iconic superhero. According to our sources - the same ones who told us Robert Pattinson was locked in as Batman, and that Black Adam will be in Shazam! 3, both of which have since been confirmed - the actress is currently on Warner Bros.' wishlist to take on the role of Batgirl. Nothing is set in stone as of yet, but the studio would love for the talented 29-year-old to star in their upcoming project of the same name.
It's going to be a tough road back for Kevin Hart, but it looks like he's going to be okay. The comedian was involved in a scary car crash over the weekend, resulting in serious injuries to both him and the other individuals in the vehicle. He's expected to make a full recovery though after undergoing extensive physical therapy.
