It's fair to say that most of the references and Easter Eggs in "Crisis on Infinite Earths" have been discovered since The CW event aired, while we've also learnt a lot about what might have been for the episodes. With the special currently being run again during the lockdown though, fans might spot some additional moments that were missed the first time around. However, according to The Flash writer Sterling Gates, there is one Easter Egg that no one's spotted yet.
The Jokerverse is shaping up to be an intriguing addition to DC's movie roster, with pictures based in the same world as Joker reportedly set to introduce a new Batman, as well many other alternate versions of familiar characters. According to our sources, the same who revealed early scoops on Black Mask in Birds of Prey, and Diana's golden eagle armor in Wonder Woman: 1984, have now revealed that WB want the Jokerverse to have its own Robin.
We've recently heard about Warner Bros.'s plans to produce Elseworlds-inspired limited series for HBO Max, including Batman: Gotham by Gaslight and Batman: White Knight. According to our sources, the same ones who recently broke stories about Ahsoka Tano turning up on The Mandalorian, and Han coming back for Fast & Furious 9, one of these projects is Batman vs. Dracula. While everything is at an early stage of development, these series will be set outside the DCEU, and will feature different actors for Batman and other characters than their current incarnations.
Although we have to wait until at least 2022 for the sequel to Shazam!, director David F. Sandberg has recently been revealing some of the lesser-known parts of the original movie. As well as pointing out a brief cameo by Seth Green, Sandberg has now explained who provided the voice for Mister Mind, the creature seen in the pic's post-credits sequence.
One of the ideas that sadly never came to pass for The CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" involved Nicolas Cage appearing as Superman. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim even approached Cage, a lifelong Man of Steel fan, to show up in the special as his character from the canceled Tim Burton movie Superman Lives. Like a planned cameo from Michael Keaton as Batman though, this idea didn't pan out, but that hasn't stopped a fan from imagining what Cage's Kal-El might have looked like.
In what's becoming a common trend across the industry, HBO will be providing free content to viewers during the coronavirus lockdown. Following on from the likes of CBS All Access in opening up their paywall, HBO will be making HBO NOW and HBO GO free to access from Friday, April 3rd. While this offering does not include certain hit series like Game of Thrones, viewers will still be able to watch almost 500 hours of content from the HBO library, adding to the options available for those stuck at home.
Although we're now a week out from the end of Star Trek: Picard's first season, hints at the next run of episodes are already coming in. Executive producer Michael Chabon, who will step down from his showrunner duties in season 2, has been sharing ideas on the new directions the series could go in next year, while we're also hearing positive noises about former Star Trek: The Next Generation cast members making an appearance in future episodes. The latest remarks from Chabon though suggest that we could see more of the Romulan Rescue Mission that formed a key part of this season's plot.
While it's not the most popular entry in the MCU, Thor: The Dark World at least stands out as one of the more bizarre films in the series. Much of the attention on the movie has emphasized script problems, and even Chris Hemsworth is in two minds about whether Dark World was any good. However, ScreenRant have now noticed that the Alan Taylor-directed film included a sneaky reference to the X-Men, years before Disney acquired the rights to the characters.
While the recent "Crisis on Infinite Earths" wrapped up multiple years of the CW's Arrowverse, it now seems that Warner Bros. want to do the same for the DC Animated Movie Universe. The DCAMU began with Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox in 2013, but may now be coming to an end with Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. The film, which you can catch the trailer for above, will reportedly be the final chapter in the "New 52"-inspired DCAMU.
