Big Blue Kicks Butt In New Clip From The Death Of Superman

Being someone who owns each and every DC Universe animated movie, I can’t help but feel how the line is coming full circle. Back in 2007, Superman: Doomsday began the party by telling a truncated account of the Man of Steel’s demise and resurrection. Awesome as that flick was, I can’t wait to see the story expanded into two films, those being The Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen, the latter of which will debut in 2019.

For the time being, we’re going to focus on the first in the two-part epic that’s providing a new perspective on one of the highest selling graphic novels of all time. In fact, just yesterday, we were treated to a full clip emphasizing our hero’s relationship with Lois Lane.

In contrast to that, the folks at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment are now tiding us over with another excerpt, this time showing off a more action-packed scene. As you can see via the footage above, Kal-El wastes no time in laying the smack down on one Bruno Mannheim, who’s tricked himself out with the latest illegal tech.

Though the gangster may not exactly be Doomsday, this video should do its job when it comes to building anticipation. While I imagine that a snippet or two pulled from the big brawl featuring the Kryptonian abomination may very well surface within the next few weeks, it stands to reason that the studio doesn’t want to spoil too much of the main event.

The Death of Superman will be made available via Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD formats on August 7 (pre-order here).
