Deadpool 2 Blu-Ray Deleted Scene Teases Another X-Men Villain

One of the many things I liked about Deadpool 2 and its predecessor was that while they were technically solo films, each opened up the veritable treasure trove that is the X-Men mythos in ways no other picture had before. Really, before the Merc with a Mouth became a headliner, True Believers had been dying to see the likes of Cable and Domino on the silver screen for what felt like an eternity. Not only that, but we received more comic book accurate versions of Colossus and Juggernaut as well!

Of course, with so many characters to pluck from the source material, not everyone can make the final cut. But once Deadpool 2 arrives on home video next month, it’ll be bringing a boat load of bonus content along with it – including a little something involving Omega Red.

Yes, we’re talking about the same Russian mutant who enjoys throwing around his carbonadium tendrils. Set to be featured during a segment called “Chess with Omega Red,” it currently remains unknown as to what this supplemental material entails, but it’s being theorized that Wade Wilson ran into this tough customer at some point during his prison stay.

If you’re in need of a primer when it comes to this guy and don’t want to go through all the trouble to uncover a specific comic book, we highly recommend checking out the animated flick Hulk vs. Wolverine from 2009. In that, Omega Red, D. Piddy and several others give Logan and the Green Goliath reason to have headaches, thus serving as a great encapsulation of all things Weapon X. Plus, it’s only 37 minutes in length, so it won’t take up too much of your time.

Be sure to pick up Deadpool 2: The Super Duper Cut on either 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray or DVD when it hits shelves on August 21. Or, if Digital HD is your thing, you can beat the rest of us to the punch on August 7.
