Target’s Exclusive Deadpool 2 Blu-Ray Will Include A Raunchy Children’s Book

By now, I'm sure that many of you reading this have, like me, found yourselves bewildered whenever attending a showing of an R-rated movie, only to find it populated with young children. Though I may not be a parent myself, I know better than to take a five-year-old to see something like IT or Saw.

By now, I’m sure that many of you reading this have, like me, found yourselves bewildered whenever attending a showing of an R-rated movie, only to find it populated with young children. Though I may not be a parent myself, I know better than to take a five-year-old to see something like IT or Saw.

On that note, I was quite amused to hear Ryan Reynolds’ narration in the opening moments of Deadpool 2 that tackled this issue head-on. Granted, those very words may have called into question the current mental state of your babysitter, but the point remains valid: just because it’s based on a comic book doesn’t necessarily mean it’s for youngsters.

Whether this factored into the creation of what we’re here to discuss today or not, it’s quite hard to not think of the two as being joined at the hands. You see, with Deadpool 2‘s home video release set to arrive next month – and including 15 minutes of additional footage, mind you – retailers are gearing up their respective exclusive editions.

Already, Best Buy has made their bid for the steelbook crowd, but I think Target won me over with “A (Not Suitable for) Children’s Book,” which’ll be included with the 4K UHD and Blu-ray editions at that particular chain. From where I’m sitting, it looks to sum up the finer points of the movie – albeit told as if spewed forth from Wade Wilson’s foul mouth.

I’m guessing the excerpts found in the accompanying gallery are those more fit for sharing with the masses, but it’s probably safe to assume that some naughty language be found in the 24-page tome. Still, there probably exists at least one person from the crowd referenced earlier that’ll actually read this to a toddler at bedtime.

Be sure to pick up Deadpool 2: The Super Duper Cut on either 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray or DVD when it hits shelves on August 21. Or, if Digital HD is your thing, you can beat the rest of us to the punch on August 7.
